Daft Punk's Interstella 5555. 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem is a 2003 Japanese-French animated science fiction film and the visual realization of Discovery, the second studio album by Daft 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem むンターステラ5555, Intāsutera Fō Faibu, Four Five is a 2003 adult animated musical science fiction film and the visual realization of Discovery, the second studio album by Daft Punk. Interstella 5555 tells the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band. The film was produced by Toei Animation, directed by Kazuhisa Takenouchi and supervised by Leiji Matsumoto. The film has no dialogue and uses minimal sound effects. For much better, the French duo debuted Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem at the in-Cannes film festival Quinzaine des Realisateurs in May 2003. The duo had worked for two years on the film with Leiji Matsumoto, one of Japan's most celebrated manga and anime artists, and the result was an animated musical with Discovery as its score, which mixed science-fiction with the decadent world of show-business, limousines with spaceships. It was finally released on DVD in December. Like Pink Floyd's The Wall, the music for Discovery and the storyline for Inte. Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem Pronounced Four Five rather than five five five five was a musical film whose soundtrack was Discovery. It was created in a collaboration between Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto. Each track from the album was a chapter in the film. The film revolved around a kidnapped alien band and contained no dialogue and little sound effects. It was produced by Daft Punk, Cedric Hervet and Emmanuel de Buretel. It was released on November 10, 2003. The Euro-electro-pop of Daft Punk is married to an epic sci-fi story line in this ambitious anime project conceived by the band, Manga legend Leiji Matsumoto, and director Kazuhisa Takenouchi. Interstella 5555: The 5tory of The 5ecret 5tar System involves the plight of talented musicians from a neighboring galaxy who are brought to earth by an evil corporation. Stripped of their immense talents, they are turned into a band of emotionless, hit-churning automatons named The Crescendolls. As they play arena after arena in increasingly glitzy fashion, the plucky popsters fight to regain their iden. Interstella 5555 is the animated musical based on Daft Punk's landmark album Discovery, which sold over 3. 2 million worldwide. This film is the continuation of Daft Punk's video collaboration with the world famous Leiji Matsumoto, considered the living god of Japanese animation. It includes the songs One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Aerodynamic, and Digital Love. It includes the songs One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Aerodynamic, and Digital Love. After the album was produced, Daft Punk presented the idea of it being made into an animated film to Leiji Matsumoto, a Japanese animator most famous for directing the space-opera Space Battleship Yamato in 1974, and the two 1977 TV series which Daft Punk were fans of: Space Pirate Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999. The film cost 4million to produce, eventually being released in May, 2003. h5-FJsYj1ck. It is essentially the whole Discovery album, with no additional dialogue, scoring a The Man Who Fell to Earth-esque story about aliens disguised as humans wh. Directed by Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto, 'Interstella 5555' is a tribute to Japanese animation of the 1970's. The images are set to the music of the album Discovery. The four first segments of the film were actually the promotional videos for the singles taken out of the album. Elenco tracce. One More Time. Co-director Leiji Matsumoto, who during his long career in anime has been associated in one capacity or another with such cheesy epics as Space Battleship Yamato, the Harlock Saga, Star Blazers & etc, worked with Daft Punk a French two-man band specialising in electronic rock on this unique feature. Deliberately recreating the extreme glam stylisation of the 1970'searly 80's Japanese animation style, albeit done with more fluidity and detail which modern day budgets and software allow, Matsumoto has married image and sound to hypnotic effect in a movie which in effect is both. The story is told by Daft Punk's album Discovery. I thought the film was great and had an awesome plot though I think if there had been speaking parts it would've been AMAZING Having been a big fan of the parisian robot duo I had much respect for the work and tried to correlate the songs to the story. ART The style of the anime legend Leiji Matsumoto is one that will always be timeless It has the look of an old anime, as if the movie came straight from the 80s
