Ella and Louis Again is a studio album by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, released in 1957 on Verve Records. It is the sequel to their 1956 album, Ella and Louis. In contrast to their previous collaboration, this album features seven solo vocal tracks by either Armstrong or Fitzgerald amongst its dozen duet tracks. It was reissued as part of a two-compact disc set in 1995, and in The Complete Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong on Verve in 1997. It was recorded at Capitol Studios. Recorded in 1957, Ella & Louis Again re-teams Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong after the success of their first album and a popular series of concerts at the Hollywood Bowl the previous year. Stylistically, Fitzgerald and Armstrong had very different histories he started out in Dixieland before branching out into classic jazz and swing, whereas Fitzgerald started out as a swing-oriented big-band vocalist before becoming an expert bebopper. Seven selections find either Fitzgerald or Armstrong singing without the other, although they're together more often than not on this fine set. Track Listing. Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Django la tua Collezione su Ella Fitzgerald And Louis Armstrong. Recorded August 16, 1956 in Los Angeles, followed by Ella And Louis Again. Elenco tracce. Can't We Be Friends. Of the 19 tracks on Ella And Louis Again, seven feature either Ella or Louis solo, but its when they're together that the real magic happens. But this in no way detracts from the greatness of the music. Ella And Louis Again Track Listing: Side One 1. Dont Be That Way 5:01 2. Makin Whoopee 3:59 3. They All Laughed 3:50 4. Comes Love 2:28 5.
