Gwynplaine de PΓ©troleuse An all time classic groundbreaker album. A highly unique blend of aggressive Hardcore Punk and Rock with groovy style musicianship and songwriting. The results are a timeless classic, and one of the most influential rock albums ever made. Repeater is the full-length debut studio album by the American post-hardcore band Fugazi. It was released on April 19, 1990, as Repeater on LP, and in May 1990 on CD bundled with the 3 Songs EP as Repeater 3 Songs. It was recorded at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia, and produced and engineered by Don Zientara and Ted Niceley. Repeater is often regarded as a definitive album for the band and a landmark of rock music. It has been described as an angrier American update of Gang of Four's. Album 1990 14 Songs. After turning the underground upside down with their initial EPs, Fugazi continued to refine and redefine the sound of post-hardcore with their first proper album and its 3 Songs EP companion. Their supreme confidence is in full effect on the opening track, Turnover, a display of slow-burning swagger that climaxes with, of all things, a Beatles quote. And while anti-capitalist screeds like Merchandise capture them at peak ferocity, the sandblasted dub of Shut the Door betrays a greater willingness to venture outside the circle pit. It's layered it's textured it has the perfect mix of gritty, sand paper like sounds and soft, smooth, marble-like sounds. Repeater is Fugazi's second outing and while the band certainly made quite the impression with 13 Songs, lots of critics will tell you Repeater is the finest of the early Fugazi work. In my personal opinion, I think it is perhaps as an album the weakest Fugazi release because of the unchanging sound of it. Where 13 Songs was able to switch between aggressive and passive hardcore songs, Repeater seems to be the most plainly aggressive Fugazi album
