Album

Rockin' the blues for 55 years - a new album, Ain't Done Yet is slated for a September 2020 release. The Savoy Brown Collection. The Savoy Brown Collection is a two-disc compilation that takes their best tunes from 14 different albums and presents the listener with a sufficient amount of material that never becomes tiresome. Some of the meatier material comes from 1971's Street Corner Talking, like the ultra-smooth I Can't Get Next to You and Willie Dixon's Wang Dang Doodle. Equally impressive is the haunting Poor Girl or the desperate guitar cry of Leavin' Again, both from the sensational Looking In album. The real treasures are the lone tunes taken fr. Savoy Brown Originally, Savoy Brown Blues Band are an English blues rock band formed in Battersea, south west London in 1965. Part of the late 1960s blues rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring. After leaving Savoy Brown, musicians became members of groups such as Yes, Fleetwood Mac, UFO and Foghat. Savoy Brown was formed by guitarist Kim Simmonds in 1965 in London, England. Simmonds has been the groups guiding hand from the first singles released in 1966 through the bands newest effort, their fortieth album, to be released in 2019. Energetic blues has been the calling card of the band from the beginning. Blues rock became the catch-all phrase in the late 1960s to describe the bands music along with that of contemporaries such as Cream, Fleetwood Mac and Jimi Hendrix. In fact, in the 2013 drama film Jimi Hendrix: All Is By My Side , a Savoy Brown song co-written by Simmonds was incl. Savoy Brown. Andy Silvester, Kim Simmonds. UMG ARESA, BMI - Broadcast Music Inc. I first got into Savoy Brown when I picked up their new at the time, in 1972 album - Street Corner Talking. I still think that album and Hellbound Train were the peak of their styles. This two-CD collection includes a good set of representative tracks from those albums as will as from earlier and later ones. Surprise - I still find the tracks from those two albums to be the strongest ones. I did enjoy many of the other tracks, and some of the ones from 1969-1971 are as good as Street Corner Talking. The Savoy Brown Collection featuring Kim Simmonds contains all of their best pieces of British blues-oriented rock. Read more. 3 people found this helpful.
