The Real Feel - Spiral Stairs. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Album 2009 15 Songs. Music Videos. Stolen Pills. Spiral Stairs. More by Spiral Stairs. The Real Feel is the 2009 debut solo album from Spiral Stairs formerly of Pavement and Preston School of Industry. Not too far removed from either Preston School of Industry album, Real Feel slightly emphasizes a California pop vibe, using these vague Beach Boys aspirations and Kannberg's patented, rippling indie pop as punctuation to a bunch of pleasantly lazy, ambling country-rock. Spiral Stairs remains a pleasing, if not especially exciting, singersongwriter and Real Feel showcases both of these sides effectively, rambling on nicely as it strolls through its songs, but never quite getting into any interesting territory. Track Listing. Even if Spiral Stairs was not crucial to either Pavement's appeal or Malkmus' success, his presence offered a subtle balance and contrast, and yielded at least a few classics: Kennel District from Wowee Zowee Date With Ikea from Brighten the Corners. Even the weakest cuts on The Real Feel are at least passable genre exercises, but at a point it becomes difficult to tell whether they are actually good faux-Neil Young songs, or if these tunes would have any appeal at all to listeners who were not hardcore Pavement fans with an unusually large amount of goodwill for the band's less famous. Pavement fans expecting similar lo-fi experimentation may be disappointed with The Real Feel, but anyone who appreciates organically structured rock songs should love this album. Read full review. Spiral is assembling a new touring band including former members of Preston School Of Industry and others, and will be performing the new album worldwide in 2009 and 2010. Track Listings. Disc: 1. Alongside Steve Malkmus, Spiral Stairs aka Scott Kannberg was a founder of Pavement, the band that made it OK for a generation to act bored on stage. This, his first solo album Everybody knows me as Spiral, its weird when someone calls me Scott is more of the same. The Real Feel was recorded in Seattle and Australia, with the help of Jon Auer Posies, Big Star among others and it sounds like it, as anyone familiar with the bluesy storytelling of The Triffids, Screaming Trees or Weddings, Parties, Anything could tell you. This is assuredly adult rock. Wharf-Hand Blues is a sprawling beast of a song, while Maltese T stomps and howls like a good un
